Our employment assistance service is built on the principles of Discovery and Customised Employment, a proven approach that uncovers each person’s unique strengths, interests, and contributions. Rather than fitting people into existing jobs, we help co-create roles where individuals can thrive, at their own pace, in their own way.

What is discovery?

Discovery is a strengths-based, curiosity-led process that helps us deeply understand a person beyond checklists or job readiness assessments. It’s about asking:

  • What energises this person?

  • Where do they shine?

  • How can we build work around their natural gifts?

We do this by:

  • Spending time with the person in real-world settings (like their home, community, or hobby spaces)

  • Observing patterns, passions, and preferences in their everyday life

  • Listening to their circle of support, family, friends, and support workers

  • Reflecting on our own assumptions and biases as practitioners

The outcome is a Discovery Profile: a rich, narrative document capturing the person’s strengths, ideal work conditions, support needs, and job development ideas.

Building the Right Job, Not Just Any Job

Once Discovery gives us a clear picture of your gifts and needs, we begin Customised Employment, a creative, collaborative process of crafting roles that fit you.

We partner with employers to:

  • Explore unmet needs or overlooked tasks in their workplace

  • Build trust and educate them about inclusive employment

  • Co-create roles that align with your strengths, interests, and support needs

This process isn’t about placing you in a job, it’s about finding or shaping the right environment where you’re valued, not just accommodated.

Working with Employers: Connection, Not Convincing

We engage employers not as gatekeepers, but as potential partners in inclusion. Our conversations focus on:

  • What you bring to the table

  • How your presence could improve their team or operations

  • Real-life success stories, visuals, and trial opportunities to build understanding and confidence

We guide employers through the journey, from initial contact to long-term support, making sure your job is sustainable, supported, and celebrated.
